Consultancy and Mentoring
Consultancy and mentoring are increasingly popular options, especially for smaller working groups and individuals. Both consultancy and mentoring address key objectives and topics outlined by you and your service. Initial contact with the Professional Practice team will help decide who your consultant will be, ensuring that needs are matched with expert experience and content knowledge.
Consultancy is different to mentoring in that you can request consultancy for an individual or up to three people, providing direct instruction and solutions, determined by consultation with service management. Your learning journey will be accompanied by a detailed action plan and reporting, providing evidence that is dependent upon the length and reporting requirements of the consult(s). Consultancy focuses on the service and improving quality and capacity of those that work within.
Mentoring is where a consultant works one-on-one with an individual and does not include the reporting that a consultancy does. Focusing directly on the individual, mentoring helps to identify and enhance the mentees abilities, build capacity, and provide direction around key objectives and goals. Reports can be provided upon request and incur an additional fee.
Both face-to-face and virtual options are available. Please note that some topics are best supported by face-to-face support. Your professional Practice Consultant will help to clarify the best option for you and your team.
