e-Child Times August 2016
Welcome to the August edition of e-Child Times.
This month’s edition explores the notion of leadership from a range of perspectives. We know from all the evidence the important connection between leadership and quality in early learning settings.
I have always subscribed to the notion that leadership is not simply conferred on a person, as in a formal appointment, but equally is something one assumes. That is, it’s an attitude, a sense that you can make a difference, regardless of your role or the formal position you hold. Leadership may be as simple as an educator taking responsibility for their professional
development. Developing your self as a professional implies intellectual curiosity, demands reflection, and strives for continual improvement all of which can have a profound effect on others around you, children, families and colleagues alike.
