This preconference bus tour is an opportunity for all Early Childhood Education and Care Sector professionals to come together to reflect upon the many forms of excellence within the context of the Australian National Quality Framework, in particular focusing on the inspiring outdoor environment. The bus tour will visit x2 Early Learning Services. These services will showcase outdoor environments which:
- promotes safe risk taking
- promote autonomy and decision making
- support children to develop resilience and support a sense of agency
The afternoon will include various workshops for participants to link theory to practice and encourage the embedded outcomes of the tour.
Using the inspiration gained from visiting these services, participants will be able to use their observations to provide further stimulus for change on how services approach practice and the continued journey towards excellence.
This year’s tour includes a x3 Masterclasses for participants to investigate the theories behind inspiring outdoor environments, and how they support children to develop resilience and enough calculated risk taking. It provides ideas to consider while interacting in the outdoor environment, setting up your environment to support risk taking and autonomy, as well as supporting children sense of agency.
Departing Telethon Speech & Hearing, 36 Dodd St, Wembley WA 6014 at 9:00am sharp, we will visit Padbury Education and Child Care Centre and Leederville Early Childhood Centre. The tour also includes a light lunch (included in ticket price) and the x3 Masterclasses hosted by Nature Play WA, Telethon Kids Institute and Play Consultant; Angus Gorrie.
