What’s my role as Educational Leader?
An Ed Leader is an educator who can lead the development and implementation of educational programs throughout the service… but did you know that neither the National Quality Standards nor the Education and Care regulations stipulate what qualification, experience or required skills an educational leader must have to fulfil their role?
Regulation 118 specifies that an approved provider must choose a “suitable person” to take on this important role; however, across the sector we are experiencing confusion and uncertainty about what this role entails and how the educational leader can successfully support their team to fulfil the requirements of Quality Area 1 of the National Quality Standard.
As Educational Leader have you ever questioned:
- Your understanding of the Educational Leader role?
- How to enhance pedagogical practices across the service?
- Your understanding of the NQF?
- How to prepare for Assessment and Rating?
These are just some of the aspects covered in our jam packed two-day Educational Leaders forum. If you are new to the role of Educational Leader or trying to create a better understanding of what your role entails this series is for you. Developed by Educational Leaders for Educational Leaders you will find a hands on approach to Educational Leader practice. Not only will you walk away with a clearer understanding on what the role involves and how to do it, but also included is a comprehensive workbook resource supplied at each session.
“We just wanted to say a huge thank you for the amazing value, knowledge and for facilitating such an amazing event! I especially appreciated the questions you presented to help us think more critically about our practice, the leadership tools and the clarity you brought to rather vague information regarding ‘Critical Reflections’. We are excited about 2022 now, and look forward to more amazing events you and your team will bring in the future!” – Mosaic ELC
Collaboration is key within the sector, coming together to empower one another and build capacity within the leadership roles you undertake at your service.
This October we are welcoming Educational Leaders across WA to join our forum – don’t miss this professional development opportunity.
